Naturally Does It.

BRIEF.

In 2020 Lena Maye planned to launch a new range of luxury hair and skin products for afro caribbean hair made with natural, gentle and beneficial ingredients at a value cost.

Lena Maye approached me looking for a creative solution for their packaging, website store and a brand look and feel for the Lena Maye master brand.

The visual solution would need to clearly express the qualities of the product, the values of the company and inspire customer interest.

SOLUTION.

For Lena Maye I wanted to strike a balance between simplicity and a more traditional natural feel.

Typography was used carefully to present a clean and clear elegance. To contrast with this I developed custom surface textures used to celebrate the ingredients and portray a more natural feel. 

Combined this created a dynamic eye catching design to inspire customers to engage and connect with the company and product.

RESULT.

A vibrant and stylish brand solution used for packaging and digital marketing, celebrating what makes Lena Maye truly unique and exciting while embracing and honoring a sense of traditional values portrayed in a stylish and elegant execution.

WHAT I DID. Branding & packaging
A colour palette that is both vibrant yet mature to balance the overall look and feel.
A bespoke hand crafted surface texture was created specifically for a product range to celebrate the natural ingredients and portray an authentic feel.

VISUAL BALANCE.

Care was taken to maintain a clean and premium feel across all brand collateral using the surface texture to give a hint of personality and a splash of colour for an elegant dynamic.

ONLINE.

To help Lena Maye reach a broader audience, I helped craft the look and feel for a website where Lena Maye could not only showcase her products but tell the story about the history of the product.

Screen print texture was used to invoke a more hands on feel to reflect on the traditional method of how the product was made and passed down through generations.

COLOUR STRATEGY.

The master brand incorporates a more neutral colour palette, placed at the centre to support the variety of additional vibrant products that are planned in future.

I really enjoyed the opportunity to design packaging for this project and develop a bespoke surface texture. It was rewarding to see the design applied in 3D to packaging, and product labels opposed to a lot of my work that is often digital.

Lena Maye was a small business with a lot of passion and potential. They had a quality product with a great story which I was honoured to help bring to market with a brand design they loved and were proud to put on their products.
